Hi, I'm Susmita. I've been teaching for about 30 years now. I taught at schools at the outset of my teaching career. So, you can brand me as an Ex-School Teacher. I've been teaching students in my private capacity over the last three decades as well. I specialise and teach only "BENGALI" subject with its nuances on both Literature and Language.
Today, my discussion is on :
WHY SHOULD A STUDENT OPT FOR "BENGALI" IN XI / XII ??
Bengali, as we all coming from Bengal's socio-cultural-Linguistic-academic background, know and brand it as a "Difficult to score" "tough Subject". In present day context, when your kids are preparing for a bright future after Class 12, this idea does not hold its value.
Because scoring in this subject has become immensely easy and less effort-consuming under the GUIDANCE OF AN EXP TUTOR. All these years have seen my students scoring above 90% in this subject ENHANCING THEIR PERCENTILE and helping them land a good career and college.
NEEDLESS TO REMIND THAT PERCENTILE (average score) IN XII HOLDS THE KEY TO THE ENTRY INTO THE PREMIUM CAREERS.
Other alternative subjects do not hold forth this opportunity. Which means, you're unlikely to score as good as you would if you've BENGALI as a subject under the able guidance.
Snob Guardians:
Very few people, I've observed, despite being a thoroughly Bengali, abhor this subject as though this subject is subaltern and would make one sound "rustic and unsmart". HOW ILL-CONCEIVED THEY ARE!!
No one can command respect if he/she does not show respect to his/her mother tongue. Even people from other culture would make fun of them!!!
My exposure with these kinds of guardians has prompted me to express my views in a nut shell. Rest lies with your decision. AFTER ALL, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR KID'S FUTURE.
